South African political leader Julius Malema has called on African leaders to unite the continent by removing colonial-era borders and establishing a single government structure.
Speaking at the Nigeria Bar Association’s Annual General Conference in Enugu on Sunday, Malema emphasized the need for a unified Africa under one currency, one president, one parliament, and one military command.
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader passionately urged African nations to move beyond the limitations imposed by colonialism and embrace a shared identity and purpose.
“We demand one Africa, we demand a borderless Africa, we demand an Africa with one president, one currency, one military command, with one parliament,” Malema said.
He also stressed that a unified African currency would be stronger globally and that African countries must assert their place on the world stage.
“We don’t care what Donald Trump or any other leader thinks of us. Africans must refuse to be subjects of others. We must stand together as the world changes and show the world that Africa is one and equal to all nations,” he added.
Malema’s bold vision highlights a pan-African agenda aimed at redefining Africa’s political and economic future through unity and sovereignty.
