A member of the House of Representatives representing Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency on the platform of Labour Party (LP), Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams, has donated 10 500 KVA transformers, cars and Motorcycles to communities and individuals within his constituency

The lawmaker also empowered the 66 wives of ward chairmen from Chikun/Kajuru, cutting across the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Congress (APC) and LP with the sum of N150,000 each, while the 66 ward chairmen went home with undisclosed amount of money.

Speaking with journalists on the sideline of the event, Hon. Ekene said the gesture was part of his personal project, not constituency project, following complaints he received from different communities in their challenges during his campaign, particularly the challenge of power in which he promised to assist them, a promise he said he was fulfilling.

He stressed that as a philanthropist turned politician, he believes in touching the lives of people positively, and will do more for the people as long as they give him their support to represent them.

Asked on why he decided to empower members of other political parties, he said, “As a leader, there is a need to carry everybody along. Political campaigns are over. It’s time to work. When you carry everybody along, nobody will pull you down but when you decide to go alone, oppositions will kick in and as a result you begin to have problems.

He stated further that he will continue with the good legacies of his predecessor Rt. Hon. Umar Yakubu Barde and improved upon his lapses, stressing that he will meet with him to discuss any pending project and if given the permission, he would see to the completion of such project(s).

In his remarks earlier, the chief of Kufana Kajuru LGA, Titus Dauda who spoke on behalf of royal fathers, said what the lawmaker was doing was historic, touching lives of people including those that are not of his political party.

He said they have never seen such in the past years of governance in Chikun/Kajuru, where dividends of democracy given our devoid of political party or religion, adding that the royal fathers will give him their hundred per cent support in order for him to succeed very well.
