Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State declares significant measures to block financial leakages during the state’s International Anti-corruption Day commemoration.

Represented by his deputy, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, the governor highlighted efforts to curb financial leakages, emphasizing tangible benefits such as rectifying unlawful deductions from pensioners and workers’ salaries.

The administration has recovered diverted public assets, renovated and reopened the Asiya Bayero pediatric hospital, and equipped the Accident and Emergency Centre of Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital.

The governor underscored the commitment to transparent and accountable leadership, noting the recent payment of a N6 billion gratuity to pensioners.

The administration prioritizes the Kano Anti-corruption strategy, implementing anti-corruption transparency units in all MDAs.

The Chairman of the Kano State Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission, Bar Muhuyi Rimingado, also announced the introduction of the Shawarata mobile application to facilitate whistleblower information receipt, showcasing the agency’s commitment to leveraging technology in the fight against corruption.
