The Labour Party (LP) has praised Senator Abdul Ningi for his bold stance against the purported N3 trillion padding in the 2024 budget, with LP senators in the 10th National Assembly expressing solidarity with him.

Prince Kennedy Ahanotu, the LP National Youth Leader, conveyed this support during a youth-led solidarity visit to the party’s national secretariat in Abuja yesterday.

Senator Ningi, who represents Bauchi Central in the Senate, faced a three-month suspension from the Senate on Tuesday following his allegations of extensive padding in the 2024 budget.

Ahanotu emphasized, “Many senators, including those from the Labour Party, stand behind the suspended lawmaker for his courage. While others may have supported him, Senator Ningi was given the floor to speak. However, I can confirm that numerous senators, including those from the Labour Party, firmly stand with him in his endeavor to expose the flaws within the National Assembly.”
