In a candid message to Governor Fubara, former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido has urged him not to succumb to intimidation and instead discard the contentious eight-point agreement into the dustbin of history.

Lamido, expressing his views on the matter through his official Facebook page, criticized the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for its perceived inaction in the Rivers State crisis.

Lamido specifically addressed Fubara, advising him to reject any attempts to coerce or bully him into adhering to the agreement.

He questioned the efficacy of the PDP’s leadership and highlighted the absence of the party in addressing the political turmoil in Rivers State.

Lamido also criticized the involvement of President Bola Tinubu in the PDP’s internal affairs, characterizing it as a form of political maneuvering.

In a statement on his official Facebook page, expressed dismay over the absence of PDP leadership in resolving the crisis and condemned President Bola Tinubu’s intervention as an act of political opportunism.

Lamido questioned the effectiveness of the PDP’s National Working Committee (NWC) and raised concerns about the party’s seeming docility in the face of challenges.

The former governor emphasized the need for Fubara to assert his independence and disregard the eight-point agreement, suggesting that it was signed under unfavorable circumstances.

Lamido’s remarks underscore the broader challenges within the PDP and call for a more proactive stance in safeguarding the party’s interests.

In concluding remarks, Lamido advised Governor Fubara to disregard the peace accord, alleging that it was signed under duress. He criticized President Tinubu’s role in the process, stating that the APC leader was playing a double game.

Lamido urged the PDP to follow the lead of figures like Chief Edwin Clark and take legal measures to challenge what he perceived as an illegitimate intervention in the party’s affairs.
