Amidst ongoing protests and mounting economic concerns, the Labour Party has directed a pointed message to President Bola Tinubu, urging him to address the economic hardships stemming from policies implemented by his government.

The National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party, Obiora Ifoh, conveyed this stance during a recent interview, emphasizing the imperative for the government to take responsibility for its actions rather than deflecting blame onto opposition forces.

Tensions escalated as the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) accused opposition parties of instigating the protests, citing demonstrations in Minna and Kano as evidence. However, the Labour Party swiftly refuted these allegations, underscoring the genuine grievances of citizens grappling with the fallout of government policies.

In the face of rising living costs and widespread dissatisfaction, protests erupted in Minna and Kano, highlighting the public’s frustration with economic challenges.

Ifoh reiterated that attributing the protests solely to opposition manipulation disregards the legitimate grievances of Nigerians, including members of the ruling party.

“Our message to President Tinubu and the APC is clear: it’s time to address the economic hardships caused by your government’s policies,” Ifoh stated. “Rather than engaging in finger-pointing and scapegoating, it’s imperative to focus on finding real solutions to the economic crisis affecting ordinary citizens.”

He emphasized the urgent need for concrete action to alleviate the economic burdens faced by Nigerians, urging the government to prioritize the well-being of its citizens over political rhetoric.

As the nation grapples with economic uncertainties, the Labour Party’s call for accountability underscores the pressing need for effective governance and tangible solutions to address the challenges confronting the country.
