Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has approved a new minimum wage of N80,000 for workers in the state, effective immediately.

The governor made this announcement on Thursday via his verified social media account, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of workers.

“Today, I’m happy to announce a new minimum wage for workers in Enugu State, reflecting our fidelity to their welfare in regard to which we’ve been resolutely committed,” Mbah stated.

The governor emphasized that this decision aligns with his administration’s belief that labor is a key driver of wealth creation. He added that by supporting the workforce, the state stands to benefit from greater economic growth and prosperity.
