Prof. Bashir Aliyu Sallau is a senior Lecturer at the Hausa Department of the Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA) in Katsina State.

He is also a local Barber, popularly called ‘Wanzan’ in Hausa land as a ‘side hustle’.

Speaking to a foreign broadcast station, Prof. Sallau says he is proud of his ‘side hustle’ as it was the same work that bailed him out during the protracted ASUU Strike in 2022 when the Federal Government introduced ‘No Work, No Pay’ policy to tackle striking University teachers for months.

He says he engages in his ‘side hustle’ during his free time in order to avoid conflict of interest with the University work.
