Margaret Peter Obi, formerly known as Margaret Brownson Usen is from Onna, Akwa Ibom State.

She got married to governor Obi in 1992.

Margaret is known for her humility. She is also known for her fierce devotion to women empowerment and child protection activities.

During her husband tenure as Anambra State governor, she facilitated the distribution of equipment grants to women cooperatives that are engaged in dry season farming.

She promoted their access to factors of production and enhancing their capacity to support their families. Margaret also facilitated the establishment of Family Courts in the state’s Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development (MWAPD) to deal with issues of child abuse and violation of women’s rights especially widows’ right to inheritance.

Her husband, Peter Obi is contesting to be Nigeria’s president in 2023 under Labour Party.

His campaigns to move Nigeria from consumption to production, coupled with his incorruptible disposition has resonated well with many Nigerians, especially the new generation voters between 18-30years.

He is moving against the two most structured political parties, PDP and APC which many described as the “twin devils” that have dwarfed Nigeria’a progress.

Margaret’s husband, Peter will be hoping for a Ballot Revolution come 2023 which can only be possible if more Nigerians register and obtain their PVCs and come out enmasse to vote for him (Labour Party) at the presidential poll.
