A South African user on X, known as @Thuso1Africa, has called for a united effort among Africans to support contestant Chidimma Adetshina in the 73rd Miss Universe pageant.

The user emphasized that voting for Chidimma is an opportunity to stand against xenophobia, stating, “Fellow Africans, here is the link to vote for the queen Chidimma. I have already cast my vote. Let’s support our queen to send a strong message to xenophobic South Africans that Africa and the world do not stand with xenophobia.”

This post has ignited discussions across social media, with many users sharing the voting link and expressing solidarity and unity across the continent.

Chidimma, who recently won the title of Miss Universe Nigeria, is set to represent Nigeria in the upcoming Miss Universe competition in Mexico this November. Her journey has been marked by challenges, including backlash regarding her nationality during her previous participation in the Miss South Africa contest, which she withdrew from amid rising xenophobic sentiments.
