The Nigeria Democratic Congress has announced that its presidential form for the 2027 elections will cost N60 million as it released full details of its primary election schedule and nomination fees for all positions.

The party said those seeking its presidential ticket will pay N20 million for the expression of interest form and N40 million for the nomination form.

For governorship, the total cost is N30 million. Aspirants will pay N10 million for expression of interest and N20 million for nomination.

Senatorial aspirants will pay N3 million for expression of interest and N5 million for nomination. House of Representatives hopefuls will pay N2 million and N4 million. Those aiming for state assembly seats will pay N1 million for expression of interest and N1.5 million for nomination.

The party explained that sales of expression of interest forms will start on May 13, 2026 and end on May 18, 2026. Screening and interviews will take place from May 19 to May 21 to determine who can move forward.

Nomination forms will be sold from May 21 to May 23. All completed forms must be returned by May 25.

Appeals from the screening process will be heard on May 25 and May 26. Party primaries for different offices will take place on May 27 and May 28.

The presidential primary election is set for May 29, 2026 in Abuja.

The party said state assembly aspirants will be screened in their states while National Assembly and presidential aspirants will be screened at the national headquarters in Abuja. Governorship aspirants will undergo their primaries at local government level.

All contestants will be required to sign agreements to follow the party rules and code of conduct.

The party said it is committed to a fair, open and inclusive process that will produce strong candidates for the 2027 elections.

It also said voting will be done using an open secret ballot system to improve transparency and trust in the process.

The NDC stated that its fees are among the lowest compared to other political parties in the country.

Women aspirants will pay half of the set fees, while persons with disabilities will receive a 75 percent reduction across all categories.

The party restated its commitment to internal democracy and said the process is designed to ensure credible and capable candidates emerge for the elections.
