Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has issued a stark warning to Iran following a missile attack that targeted Israel.

He stated, “Iran made a big mistake tonight – and it will pay for it,” emphasizing the failure of the assault and vowing retaliation during a political-security meeting on October 1, 2024.

Netanyahu underscored Israel’s determination to defend itself against threats, asserting that the Iranian regime does not grasp the seriousness of Israel’s resolve to retaliate against its enemies.

The missile barrage, reportedly involving nearly 200 rockets, was described by Netanyahu as a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict in the region.

He declared, “Whoever attacks us, we attack them,” reiterating Israel’s policy of responding forcefully to aggression.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reported that air raid sirens were activated across the country during the attack, although many missiles were intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome defense system, resulting in minimal injuries among civilians.

In response to Netanyahu’s statements, Iranian officials claimed their missile launch was a legitimate reaction to Israeli actions against Hezbollah in Lebanon. They warned that any Israeli retaliation would lead to severe consequences for its infrastructure
