Munir Sanusi Bayero, the newly appointed District Head of Bichi, has officially begun his tenure, pledging his allegiance to His Royal Highness, Emir of Kano, Khalifa Muhammadu Sanusi II, and vowing to preserve the rich traditions of the Kano Emirate.

Speaking from Bichi, the Wamban Kano emphasized the district’s historical importance as a key pillar of the Emirate’s legacy.

He highlighted Bichi’s longstanding connection to past Emirs, such as Emir Abdullahi Bayero and Khalifa Muhammadu Sanusi, underscoring its status as a hub of royal heritage and leadership. Expressing deep appreciation to Emir Sanusi II for his confidence in him, Munir recounted his progression from Dan Maje to Wambai, crediting the Emir’s steadfast support. He also reflected on their shared challenges, including their exile, and celebrated their triumphant return to Kano.

“Under His Majesty’s leadership, our family’s heritage remains vibrant,” he said. “His wisdom has united the royal house, and I urge all descendants of the Emirate to stand together and resist any forces—internal or external—that might disrupt our harmony.”

As District Head, Munir Sanusi Bayero promised to emulate his late brother, Wambai Abubakar, by focusing on education, job creation, and community welfare. He committed to advancing Emir Sanusi II’s priorities, particularly in education and child nutrition, as cornerstones of his administration.

Wamban Kano also thanked Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his efforts in restoring the Emirate’s prestige and promoting education across Kano State. He lauded the Governor’s leadership and assured his support for the state government’s development projects in Bichi.
