Former Senate President and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwart, Bukola Saraki, has said that Nigerians are growing increasingly disillusioned with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and are yearning for a new direction in governance.

Saraki made this statement on Sunday via his official Facebook page, as the PDP launched its membership registration drive in Kwara State in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

“Yesterday in Kwara, something quiet yet extraordinary was happening,” Saraki wrote. “Despite the heavy rainfall, thousands came out young and old waiting patiently to join a cause greater than themselves.”

He emphasized that the turnout reflects a deep public desire for change, driven by dissatisfaction with the current state of governance under the APC.

“These moments may seem small, but they tell a powerful story: people are united in their demand for a better future one that contrasts with their present reality,” Saraki stated.

He stressed that meaningful transformation is built over time through consistent civic engagement. “Real change doesn’t happen overnight. It’s the result of countless small steps ordinary people making the decision to participate, to believe in a better Kwara.”

Saraki described the registration process as a chance to be part of a growing, people-driven movement aimed at reshaping the political landscape.

In a related development, Saraki was recently appointed to a PDP reconciliation committee, along with six others, ahead of the party’s crucial National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting scheduled for May 27.
