Salihu Lukman, former National Vice Chairman (North-West) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has predicted that President Bola Tinubu will be voted out in the 2027 elections, drawing parallels to the removal of military rulers over 25 years ago.

During an interview on Channels Television’s “Politics Today” on Wednesday, Lukman criticized the Tinubu administration, pointing out the worsening security and economic conditions during his 15-month tenure. He argued that the APC has failed to meet the expectations of Nigerians and does not deserve another term.

Lukman further criticized the performance of APC governors, accusing them of behaving like “emperors” who have not fulfilled their promises to the people.

“This country cannot continue like this. Something has to change,” Lukman stated. “Just as we were able to push the military out of power, we will correct the current mess. The APC and President Asiwaju (Tinubu) will be defeated in 2027, paving the way for leaders who serve the citizens, not rule over them.”

Lukman, a former Director General of the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), emphasized that Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos, has benefited from the support of those committed to building democracy and should perform better. He added that if Tinubu takes corrective steps, he would apologize and support the administration.
