A calm evening turned into a night of fear in Kaduna State when suspected terrorists attacked a residential area in Unguwar Sabon Titi along the Katari Hayin Dam road in Kachia Local Government Area.

The incident happened late Thursday night at about 9 32 pm, leaving residents shocked and helpless.

According to people living in the area, the attackers arrived in large numbers and were heavily armed. They quietly surrounded a family house without making noise at first. Witnesses said the gunmen moved carefully, avoiding attention as they entered the compound and took away seven members of the same family.

The victims from the family were identified as Jummai Amos, Barnabas Amos, Iko Amos, Baby Amos, Eunice Amos, Eshiwan Amos and Godwin Amos. After taking them, the attackers did not stop there. They moved to a nearby house where they abducted three more people named Bagudu Damisa, Evelyn Damisa and Alfred Iriyo.

Residents explained that the gunmen avoided shooting at the beginning of the operation because the Divisional Police Officer residence is located very close to the area. They believed the attackers wanted to carry out the kidnapping quietly without alerting security forces. However, after leaving the community with the victims, the gunmen began firing shots into the air.

One resident described the situation as terrifying, saying the attackers surrounded his neighbour’s house before entering and taking the family members. He added that they then moved to another house and kidnapped three more people, showing how organized and bold the attackers were.

A community leader who confirmed the incident said he received a distress call during the attack and immediately tried to contact security personnel. Unfortunately, his efforts failed as none of the calls went through at that critical moment.

By Friday morning, many residents gathered at the affected homes to show support and sympathy to the families of those kidnapped. The atmosphere in the community was filled with fear, sadness and anger over the repeated attacks in the area.

A local source revealed that security operatives have started search operations in nearby forests, hoping to find and rescue the victims. As of now, the police in Kaduna State have not released any official statement regarding the incident.
