Nkiruka Nistoran, the publisher of NN News Media, has addressed the 1966 coup, stating that it has been thoroughly examined by the Oputa Panel and that the video is widely available for viewing.

She emphasized that the coup was not an Igbo coup.

Nistoran urged Nigerians to disregard Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), asserting that he does not represent the Igbo people and poses a threat to them.

She accused Kanu of attempting to impose himself on the Ndi-Igbo, acting as an emperor, and later having his spouse and family claim he is fighting for the Igbo.

“We are committed to putting an end to the chaos he has brought to our region,” Nistoran stated.

She highlighted that the Ndi-Igbo have their socio-cultural organizations, such as Ohanaeze, that represent them. Nistoran challenged Kanu to provide proof that the Igbo people made him their spokesperson and warned him to desist from further implicating himself. She questioned how Kanu could claim to fight for Biafra while speaking for the Igbo.

Nistoran warned that Igbo is not Biafra and declared that anyone caught in the South-East agitating under the name of Biafra is a terrorist.

This comes as Kanu has allegedly asked his lawyer to sue anyone calling the 1966 coup Igbo coup.
