Online publisher Nkiruka Nistoran has called for an apology from former Kaduna senator Shehu Sani following his comments that appeared to blame the South-East region for recent protests.

Sani had tweeted a series of questions questioning the participation of different regions in protests, implying that the South-East’s lack of involvement was notable.

According to Sani;

Why did the South-East refuse to protest when many South-Easterners were supporting the protest?

Why did the Northerners refuse to protest against Yar’Adua and Buhari but protested against GEJ and BAT?

Why did the South-Westerners always protest against all Presidents?

In response, Nistoran pointed out that a protest took place in Enugu, demanding an end to hardship and poor governance. She criticized Sani’s statements as misinformation and expressed that the South-East would rather trust the North than the South-West in protest matters, citing past experiences of betrayal.

She emphasized that the South-East needs to build trust before fully engaging in protests, as Sani’s comments could incite division among Nigerians who are currently uniting for better governance.
