Nkiruka Nistoran, the online publisher of NN News Media, has strongly criticized Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state for his comments on Atiku Abubakar during a visit by Peter Obi to discuss the Ibadan bomb explosion.

She questioned the timing of the governor’s remarks, suggesting that he should have addressed the issue when submitting documents to President Bola Tinubu, rather than using the visit of Peter Obi as a diversion against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

The actions of the Oyo state governor appear to sow discord between both leaders, as Peter Obi’s visit has no connection to Makinde’s remarks about Atiku.

In a direct message to Governor Makinde on x social media, she expressed her viewpoint, stating, “Dear @seyiamakinde, it would have been more appropriate to make this statement when you visited @officialABAT to submit documents on the Ibadan explosion, rather than using @PeterObi’s visit as a cover-up against @atiku. Atiku is entitled to choose whether to communicate with you or not.”

NN News Media‘s report highlighted that Peter Obi, accompanied by Aisha Yesufu and party chieftain Dele Farotimi, visited the governor’s office in the State Secretariat, Agodi GRA, to discuss the Ibadan explosion that resulted in five confirmed deaths, 77 people with varying degrees of injuries, and damage to 58 houses.
