During her recent visit to Ife, First Lady Mrs. Tinubu inaugurated a new hostel and a 2.7-kilometer road at Ọbafẹmi Awolọwọ University (OAU), Ile Ife, both generously donated by the Ooni of Ife and named in her honor.

Speaking at the palace, Mrs. Tinubu emphasized the importance of hard work, stating, “There is no food for the lazy man; even God worked for six days and rested on the seventh day.” She highlighted Nigeria’s potential, describing it as a land “flowing with milk and honey” and called for efforts to preserve its wealth for future generations.

The First Lady expressed gratitude for the blessings her family has received prior to entering public office, asserting their contentment with what they have.

She urged Nigerians to remain patient with President Tinubu’s administration, assuring them of a brighter future. “This administration is dedicated to sustainable development,” she said, noting that it is committed to ensuring citizens do not feel let down.

Mrs. Tinubu pointed out that the current government has only been in office for less than 18 months and is not solely responsible for the prevailing economic challenges. She reassured the public that efforts are underway to stabilize the economy and improve living conditions for Nigerians following the removal of the fuel subsidy.
