Ebonyi State Governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Nwifuru, has empowered 95 youths from the state’s 13 Local Government Areas, granting each of them Three Million Naira (N3,000,000.00) following their completion of a vocational training program.

According to a statement by Hon. Leo Ekene, the Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, the beneficiaries spent over two months at a training center in Agbani, Enugu State, where they acquired skills in fishery, poultry, piggery farming, and business management.

During a reception for the trainees at the State Executive Chamber, Governor Nwifuru commended their dedication and commitment, noting their willingness to stay away from home for an extended period to gain valuable vocational skills. He expressed confidence that the funds provided would be effectively utilized by those who have been adequately trained.

Governor Nwifuru also emphasized that the 95 beneficiaries will be closely monitored to ensure proper use of the grants, which are intended to help them establish their own farms and apply the knowledge they gained.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Human Capital Development, Hon. Mrs. Ann Aligwe, revealed that while 100 individuals were initially nominated for the program, some left the camp due to their reluctance to stay away from home for more than two months, citing various reasons.

The training, conducted under the Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru Empowerment Programme (FONEP), marks the first batch of beneficiaries in this initiative aimed at fostering youth development and economic self-reliance in Ebonyi State.
