Mr Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has been sworn-in as the 4th Executive Governor of Ebonyi State.

Also, Mrs Patricia Onyemachi Obila has been sworn-in as the first woman deputy Governor of the State.

The Chief Judge of the State, Justice Elvis Ngene, administered oath of allegiance and office to them at Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium, Abakaliki, Monday.

Nwifuru, the two-time Speaker of Ebonyi House of Assembly, was declared winner of the March 18th Governorship election in the state by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He took over from Chief David Umahi.

The immediate past Governor, David Umahi decorated Mr Nwifuru as the Great Grand Commander of Ebonyi Hall of Fame (GGCEHF) and his deputy, Mr Obila, as Grand fellow of Ebonyi Hall of Fame (GFEHF).
