Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in the just concluded presidential election, has congratulated former chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association and consummate lawyer, Olisa Agbakoba SAN, on his 70th birthday.

The former Anambra State Governor, via his verified twitter account praised the legal luminary for his achievements in the law profession and his advancement for the cause of humanity.

Olisa Agbakoba is a human rights lawyer, maritime lawyer, and former President of the Nigerian Bar Association. He is also the founder of Nigeria’s foremost human rights organization, the Civil Liberties Organization (CLO), and the Zambian pan-African human rights organization AfroNet.

Agbakoba was born in Jos, Nigeria, in 1953. He studied law at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and the London School of Economics. After graduating, he worked as a lawyer in the private sector before founding his own law firm, Olisa Agbakoba and Associates, in 1987.
