Former Anambra State Governor and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, actively campaigned in Benin City, Edo State, to support the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Barrister Olumide Akpata, and his running mate, Alhaji Yusuf Kadiri.

The campaign, aimed at mobilizing voters for the upcoming Edo State governorship election on September 21, 2024, emphasized the importance of electing capable leaders.

During the rally, Obi highlighted the Labour Party’s vision for a transformative governance model, urging the electorate to choose candidates who exemplify competence, consistency, and compassion.

He stated, “Together, we can build a new Edo State and a Nigeria that is POssible,” reinforcing the need for collective action in the pursuit of progress.

The campaign traversed key areas in Benin City, where Obi encouraged citizens to participate actively in the electoral process, promising that Akpata would address the current challenges facing the state.
