The Presidential candidate of Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi said he would make Aba and Port Harcourt a very busy commercial business area by providing the requisite enabling environment for the enterprising, industrious and resourceful Aba entrepreneurs to thrive and at the same time, make the sea Ports in Rivers the channel point for the export of every products produced in Aba.

Mr Obi who made this known yesterday in a monitored interview (Channels TV- Politics Today) also maintained that the power sector, education and security are among his top priorities when he becomes the President and Commander in Chief of the armed forces of Nigeria.

According to him, he would deploy the arsenal of Poverty reduction by creating job opportunities as a way of reducing crime rate (insecurity) in the country. He however declined to expose how he would tackle insecurity holistically.

“We shall create jobs for the youth, provide enabling environment for businesses to thrive, educate our children and lots more to reduce crime rate. Then others would be dealt with decisively. We shall lay every available option on how to tackle insecurity on the table. We shall not waste time to deal with it. Currently the government is not decisive with the issue of insecurity,”

On electricity, Peter having gone to Egypt to learn how the country boost its power sector, said he would deploy the Egyptian strategy and ensure Nigeria power rise to 30000MW of electricity or at least half of it as quickly as possible.

“Our youth are our greatest assets. Human capital development is key. We need them to channel their Productive energies into profitable venture. So we need to invest in them. What they need more is access to training and finance and I know where to get it.

“We can’t talk about Production without fixing power sector. Its is critical for us to fix electricity very fast, once it’s done, many other great things fall in their rightful places. We need to get to $260bn on export in the near future,” he assured.
