Dr. Tanko Yunusa, the Interim National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, and a prominent leader in Nigeria’s Labour Party, has expressed his belief that the Obidient Movement will be pivotal in shaping the country’s future political landscape.

Tanko, who previously served as the interim National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, emphasized that the initiative aimed to consolidate supporters of Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, into a powerful and organized force.

In a recent interview with Arise TV, Tanko highlighted the movement’s goal to transform its supporters from being labeled as disorganized and rebellious into a structured and influential political entity. He explained that the registration of Obi’s supporters was a strategic step to better understand their numbers, capabilities, and potential for impact.

Tanko addressed past criticisms that the movement was perceived as unstructured and stubborn. He reassured that the current focus is on organization and internal alignment to better advocate for their causes. “We want to know our strength, how we can influence change, and redefine the narrative. It’s about moving from mere criticism to structured action. We’re building a framework that will enable us to present our candidates effectively and with ownership,” Tanko said.

He further elaborated that future candidates from the Obidient Movement would be well-prepared and cohesive, likening their readiness to a well-prepped aircraft ready for takeoff. “We’re ensuring that every component is in place so that when the moment comes, we’re ready to advance with determination and unity,” Tanko concluded.
