Governor Alex Otti of Abia state has initiated the reconstruction of the Osisioma-Ekeakpara Road, a significant move in the revitalization of Aba city.

Acknowledging the long-standing neglect of Abia people, Governor Otti assures that this era is over.

The road project, expected to boost economic activity and improve the city’s infrastructure, symbolizes a new dawn for the industrious people of Aba.

The commencement of the Osisioma – Ekeakpara Road reconstruction, a 3.5km stretch starting from Osisioma junction and ending just beyond Ekeakpara market, marks a new chapter in our city’s restoration journey. The project, to be carried out by WILANGY NIGERIA LTD, will include the installation of streetlights along the entire road.

Aba, a city known for its entrepreneurial spirit and industrious inhabitants, has long been neglected. However, this is about to change. The Osisioma-Ekeakpara road, more than just a path of asphalt and concrete, is a vital lifeline for the city. Its decline has contributed to the city’s downturn, but with this reconstruction, we are turning a new leaf. The road will once again buzz with activity, supporting the NNPC Depot and the many industries along the Osisioma industrial corridor.

The Commissioner for Works has been tasked with the strict oversight of the project. We anticipate the completion of this road within a year, designed to accommodate and withstand the heavy traffic of large trucks and logistical vehicles.

As we work towards a brighter future, I urge all citizens to contribute. Pay your taxes, assist the task force in maintaining our environment and drainage systems, especially with the rainy season approaching, and exercise patience as we construct a better tomorrow.

Together, we will witness the resurgence of Aba, stronger and more prosperous.
