Governor Alex Otti of Abia State commenced the construction of the Nunya-Eluama Road today, Tuesday, marking a significant step forward in the state’s infrastructure development.
During the flag-off ceremony, Governor Otti provided reassurance to Abians, affirming that ongoing road projects throughout the state are advancing as per the set timeline and will be completed as promised.
The 11.5-kilometer Nunya-Eluama Road, undertaken by China Civil Engineering Construction Company Ltd (CCECC), is slated for completion within the next 12 months.
Emphasizing the road’s importance, Governor Otti outlined its potential to enhance access to urban markets, thereby fostering investment opportunities and generating employment prospects for the youth of Abia.
“Our objective is to transform every locality within the state into a secure and attractive investment hub, supported by adequate infrastructure,” he declared.
Acknowledging progress in enhancing security in Isuikwuato, the governor remarked, “The roads, farms, and forests of Isuikwuato are now significantly safer than they were a mere 10 months ago.”
“People can now traverse Isuikwuato without fear of attacks or the various challenges commuters previously encountered along this route,” he added.
Governor Otti highlighted the role of the Eluama-Nunya Road in bolstering support for farmers, enabling them to transport their produce to markets across Abia and beyond.
Assuring timely completion, Otti affirmed, “All our road projects are proceeding according to plan and will be delivered on schedule. We’re receiving indications that many of these projects will be finalized ahead of the projected timeline.”
