The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, has signed the Greater Aba Development Authority and Other Related Matters Bill, recently passed by the 8th Abia State House of Assembly under the leadership of Speaker Rt. Hon Emmanuel Emeruwa.
NN News Media reports that the signing took place at Otti’s country home in Umuru-Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State.
Governor Otti emphasized that the new law aligns with the rebuilding agenda of his administration and is designed to promote socio-economic development in Aba, a city that serves as the commercial and industrial hub of the state.
He highlighted Aba’s unique combination of commercial and industrial attributes, stating that the administration’s significant investment in infrastructure renewal in Aba is a recognition of the city’s potential.
Furthermore, Otti outlined his government’s strategy to transform Aba into both an industrial and technological hub. He expressed commitment to improving the state’s ease of doing business rating, aiming to attract more investors to Abia.
Governor Otti commended the State House of Assembly for its diligence and effectiveness in passing the bill, praising them for a job well done in contributing to the state’s development.
