Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has unveiled a multi-billion-naira bus terminal in Umuahia, the state capital, as part of his administration’s efforts to modernize the city’s infrastructure.

The new bus terminal, constructed by German firm CRANEBURG, is the first of its kind in the state and aims to centralize all motor parks and railway terminals within the city, improving traffic flow and creating a more organized transportation system.

Renaming of Ossah Expressway

Governor Otti also announced the renaming of the newly commissioned Ossah Expressway to Gen. Aguiyi Ironsi Boulevard, honouring the first military Head of State of Nigeria, who hailed from Umuahia.

Other Commissioned Projects

Among the projects commissioned to mark the governor’s one year anniversary in office is the reconstructed Okpara Square Water Fountain. These projects, constructed by German firm CRANEBURG, serve as the first of their kind in the state and signify the Governor’s vision for modernizing Umuahia’s infrastructure.

Governor’s Assurance

“Umuahia, in the next one year, you may not be able to recognise it if you travel,” Otti assured, emphasizing his commitment to transforming the state capital into a modern and vibrant city.
