Over 50,000 people from around the world are set to take part in this year’s Enugu Technology Festival, happening from February 24 to 27, 2026.
The four-day event will offer free digital skills training and bring together startup founders, developers, investors, corporate tech leaders, academics, policymakers, and students. It will be held at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Enugu.
Speaking at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Press Centre, Enugu State Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology, Dr. Prince Lawrence Ezeh, said preparations are on track to make the festival a success.
He said the media plays a key role in sharing the state’s transformation story and appreciated their support.
“All our teams handling logistics, programs, partnerships, security, media, and protocol are working hard to make this year’s festival excellent. Exhibition stands are being finalized, technical setups are almost done, and our digital systems have been upgraded for both in-person and online participants,” Ezeh explained.
He added that broadband capacity around the venue has been strengthened, cybersecurity improved, and digital registration systems integrated to ensure a smooth experience.
Governor Peter Mbah’s administration has focused on innovation, youth empowerment, and technology-driven growth. “Enugu, once known as the Coal City, is now powering the future with ideas, code, research, and entrepreneurship. Coal powered industry in the past; innovation will drive prosperity today,” the Commissioner said.
Delegations from across Nigeria, other African countries, and international tech communities are expected, showing that Enugu is now one of the top tech hubs in the country, second only to Lagos.
Since last year’s festival, ten new technology hubs have opened in the state, including a Blockchain Hub and the Risevest Hub. Tech communities have also relocated to Enugu, boosting collaboration among startups, investors, and government agencies.
