Valentine Ozigbo, former gubernatorial candidate in Anambra State and Special Adviser to Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, has shared his congratulations to the newly formed 29-member Caretaker Committee of the Labour Party.

In a recent statement posted on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Ozigbo expressed his optimism about the future of the party under the new leadership.

The Caretaker Committee, led by Senators Nenadi Usman and Darlington Nwaokocha as Chairman and Secretary respectively, was inaugurated at the National Executive Committee (NEC) and Extended Stakeholders meeting in Umuahia, Abia State. Ozigbo praised this development, describing it as a source of new hope and fresh beginnings for the party.

He also commended Peter Obi and Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, for their leadership and their bold move in hosting the meeting. Ozigbo emphasized that the committee’s primary goal is to organize the party’s congresses and conventions at the Ward, Local Government, State, and National levels in accordance with the party’s constitution.

Ozigbo urged all members to rally behind the new committee and work together with various representatives, including those from the NLC, TUC, Senate, House of Representatives, House of Assembly, and past gubernatorial candidates, to achieve the party’s objectives.

He envisions the Labour Party evolving into a vibrant, popular movement that will rejuvenate Nigeria’s democratic and governance landscape at all levels. He concluded by expressing confidence that the new direction will restore the dwindling hope of Nigerians and set the stage for better governance.
