Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 elections, recently completed his nationwide Ramadan tour, culminating in the commissioning of boreholes and provision of financial aid in various states in Northern Nigeria.
Starting on March 18, 2024, in Nasarawa State, Obi’s tour extended to Gombe, Bauchi, and Kaduna States, where he addressed the critical need for water and offered support to local communities.
In Gombe State, Obi commissioned a borehole in the community of Kofar Gidan Alh Babayo Kusada Kasuwar Dawaki market Pantami, providing financial assistance to around 100 individuals to alleviate economic hardships. Moving on to Bauchi State, Obi’s team replicated their efforts by supporting another community with a borehole and financial aid for approximately 100 individuals in Sabon Layi.
Continuing his journey, Obi visited Zaria, Kaduna State, where he met with His Highness Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, the Emir of Zazzau. During this visit, the Emir acknowledged the importance of transitioning from consumption to production as a strategy to combat poverty and insecurity in Northern Nigeria. In Kwarbai, Zaria City, Obi inaugurated a water project and extended aid to approximately 100 individuals, emphasizing the significance of meeting the urgent needs of the people as a fundamental aspect of leadership.
Obi’s actions underscore his commitment to placing the needs of the people at the forefront of governance, reflecting his vision for a new Nigeria that prioritizes the well-being of its citizens.
