Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s candidate in the 2023 presidential elections, has congratulated the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) for fulfilling its long-standing promise to revive the Port Harcourt refinery.

The refinery, now operational, has an impressive production capacity of 60,000 barrels of crude oil per day, with about 200 trucks expected to load products daily. This is a significant milestone, but Nigerians are eagerly awaiting its impact on fuel prices and the broader economy.

Obi also expressed optimism about the revival of the Kaduna refinery, which promises to enhance productivity, improve transportation, and ease economic challenges for the nation.

However, Obi stressed the need for greater transparency in the operations of the NNPC. He emphasized that Nigerians deserve clarity and accountability in how the nation’s oil resources are managed. This is essential to ensure that the benefits of increased refining capacity are felt across the country and contribute to long-term economic development.

“A new Nigeria is POssible!” Obi concluded, reinforcing his commitment to a future of transparency and progress.
