Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, has expressed deep condolences following the passing of Sheikh Muyideen Bello, a revered Muslim scholar and preacher.

In a heartfelt statement, Obi conveyed his sympathies on behalf of his family and the Obidient movement, describing Sheikh Bello as a figure of profound influence. “From what I have read about him, Sheikh Muyideen Bello lived a remarkable life, leaving behind an enduring legacy,” Obi stated.

The late Sheikh was celebrated as a distinguished Islamic scholar, educator, and community leader whose relentless pursuit of knowledge and dedication to spiritual growth and humanitarian service profoundly impacted many lives.

Obi extended his condolences to the Muslim community, recognizing the loss of a cherished leader. “Sheikh Muyideen Bello was not only a scholar with a deep understanding of Islam but also a man who exemplified its teachings through his tireless commitment to love, peace, and unity,” he remarked.

He concluded his tribute with prayers for the late scholar’s family and the Muslim community, asking Almighty Allah to grant them the strength to endure the loss. He also prayed for the forgiveness of Sheikh Bello’s sins and for him to be granted Al-Jannah Firdaus, the highest paradise in Islam.
