Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, joined Governor Alex Otti and other dignitaries on April 17, 2025, at the Christ The King Cathedral (CKC) in Aba, Abia State, for the 2025 Chrism Mass celebration.

The event was officiated by the Catholic Bishop of the Aba Diocese, Most Rev. Augustine Ndubueze Echema.

In his statement, Obi expressed deep appreciation to Bishop Echema, who underscored that compassion holds greater value than wealth and commended Governor Otti for his support to the Church during difficult times.

Obi also acknowledged the governor’s positive remarks about his prudent leadership and responsible management of public resources. He reiterated his long-standing belief that Nigeria can be rebuilt through visionary and compassionate leadership.

“A competent leader with capacity, credibility, character, compassion, and commitment to do good can start building a new Nigeria that everybody will be proud of,” Obi affirmed.

He concluded with his signature message of hope: “A New Nigeria is Possible.”
