Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Peter Obi, expressed his joy in joining the Islamic community in Nigeria and around the world in celebrating Eid-El Maulud.

Through a message on his social media platform, Obi highlighted the significance of this year’s celebration, which comes at a time when many Nigerians are facing severe economic challenges.

He noted that millions across the nation are enduring hardships such as a lack of access to basic healthcare and the alarming number of children out of school. Obi stressed that these issues weigh heavily on the nation’s collective conscience and called for action to address them.

Obi reminded Nigerians of the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, which emphasize love, compassion, and kindness. He urged citizens to be their brother’s keeper, show empathy to those in need, and work together to tackle societal inequalities, particularly in education and healthcare.

He encouraged Nigerians to use this festive occasion to reflect on the values that unite them and renew their commitment to building a more just and prosperous Nigeria where everyone, regardless of background or belief, can thrive.

Concluding his message, Obi wished Muslim families peace, joy, and prosperity, hoping their prayers would bring lasting peace and security to the nation.
