Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi recently shared his enthusiasm and support for Ijele Sports Club following a meeting with its management team at his Onitsha residence.

The delegation, led by CEO Barr. Ferdinand Afam Naza and Ezeokoli Blessing Chimezie, discussed the club’s ambitious plans for sports development across Nigeria.

Based in the bustling city of Enugu, Ijele Sports Club is a multi-sports organization committed to transforming Nigerian sports by adhering to international standards. Among its latest milestones, the club’s men’s football team is set to make its debut in the Nigerian National League (NNL) on November 30, 2024.

“This achievement is significant not only for Ijele Sports Club but also for the young Nigerians dedicated to sports, especially soccer,” Obi said. He emphasized that sports is a powerful tool to foster national unity, reduce poverty, and tackle youth unemployment.

Obi highlighted Nigeria’s immense pool of young talent, expressing confidence that with adequate investment in sports, these talents can shine on the global stage. He encouraged Nigerian youths to continue honing their sporting skills, pledging his full support to Ijele Sports Club and to initiatives that promote sports development.

“Together, we can build a vibrant community that celebrates and uplifts the Nigerian spirit in a new Nigeria that is POssible,” Obi concluded.
