Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, shared a heartfelt message on Ash Wednesday, marking the beginning of the Lenten Season—a time for fasting, prayers, and almsgiving.

He extended his best wishes to all Christians in Nigeria for a fruitful Lenten season.

Obi emphasized the importance of this period as a time for sober reflection on Nigeria’s journey, considering the nation’s current challenges and future opportunities. He highlighted that the season calls for personal sacrifices, not only for spiritual growth but also for national development.

He urged everyone to show love to one another, regardless of tribe or religious background, in accordance with the Holy teachings. Obi also encouraged Nigerians to support each other through these challenging times and to pray for God’s intervention in the nation.

In closing, he wished everyone a blessed Lenten season and expressed his hope for a new and better Nigeria, stating, “A New Nigeria is POssible.” -PO
