The President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Francis-Wale Oke, has assured Nigerians that President Bola Tinubu will restore hope to the nation.
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Friday, ahead of the 18th National Biennial Conference and the 40th anniversary of PFN, Wale-Oke urged Nigerians not to lose faith in the country, emphasizing that God’s love and glory will shine upon Nigeria again.
Despite the current challenges, he reassured citizens that brighter days are ahead. “No matter how dire the situation, there is hope. After darkness comes light; after the night comes the day. God has given us this message of hope, and thousands of our people are returning to different parts of the country with this assurance,” he said.
He also called on Nigerians to take responsibility for national transformation, urging them to be patriotic and actively contribute to the country’s economic and political development. “We must turn to God, humble ourselves, pray, seek His face, and turn from our wicked ways. A changed nation begins with changed individuals,” he stated.
Addressing concerns about the push for Shari’a law in some South West states, PFN Vice President Rev. Cosmas Ilechukwu reaffirmed the organization’s stance on Nigeria’s secular status. He cautioned against favoring any religious system over others, warning that such actions could destabilize the nation.
“Nigeria is officially a secular state that does not endorse any specific religion. The government must uphold this principle to maintain fairness and unity. Any attempt to tilt towards a particular religious system could spell doom for the country,” Ilechukwu warned.
He further emphasized that Nigeria’s diversity should be preserved, allowing individuals the freedom to practice their faith without imposition. “Trying to force everyone into one religious ideology will only create unnecessary conflicts,” he concluded.
