During the Halleluyah Mega Praise Night at Shimawa High School, Ogun State, Pastor Richard Adeboye, the leader of Region 12 in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), advised Nigerians to refrain from fighting political figures such as Tinubu and other politicians.
Instead, he encouraged citizens to turn to prayer as a powerful means to address the challenges facing the nation.
Adeboye emphasized the uniqueness of Nigeria and the need for responsible action, asserting that the nation’s survival is a testament to divine creation. Rather than engaging in futile protests and criticism without solutions, he urged Nigerians to trust in prayer for a positive transformation.
The pastor emphasized the importance of individuals taking responsibility and drawing closer to God. He discouraged adversarial approaches such as protests and fights against the government, citing past failures in such endeavors. Quoting the Bible, he noted that the heart of rulers is in God’s hands, suggesting that appealing to the divine for change is more effective.
Adeboye’s message to leaders emphasized the recognition of the higher power that placed them in authority. He called for an end to the conflict between citizens and leaders, advocating for the church to focus on preaching righteousness and establishing integrity as a means to positively influence society.
