Thousands of protesters in Abuja gathered at the National Assembly, calling for the resignation of Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Criticizing Wike’s leadership as incompetent and lacking vision for FCT development, the Network of Civil Societies for Economic Sustainability spokesperson, Adamu Kabir Matazu, urged an investigation into Wike’s land allocation policies.

Matazu expressed concerns about Wike’s alleged inefficiency, high-handedness in land policies, and perceived biases, stating that Wike’s actions contradict the government’s agenda for FCT reforms.

The group called on President Bola Tinubu to take decisive action to address what they perceive as Wike’s detrimental impact on the progress and growth of the FCT and the nation at large.
