The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has refuted reports suggesting that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released and validated a list of the party’s state chairmen across Nigeria.

In a statement signed by the Interim National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the party described the claim as a calculated attempt by certain individuals to create confusion within its ranks and mislead the public.

The ADC emphasized that INEC has not issued any such confirmation, either formally or informally, reiterating that the authority to constitute and ratify state leadership rests solely within the party’s constitutional framework.

“INEC only recognises what the party submits through the proper channels after due process. As of now, no such comprehensive list has been submitted or endorsed by INEC,” the statement clarified.

The party called on its members and stakeholders to remain calm and rely strictly on official communications from the national leadership.

“The strength of any political movement lies not only in numbers, but also in discipline, structure, and fidelity to internal democracy. The ADC remains committed to these values,” the statement added.

The ADC also urged the public to disregard the “fake list” being circulated and assured that any legitimate update on its leadership structure would be communicated through verified platforms.
