Dagogo Iboroma, the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Rivers State, has produced evidence that contradicts widespread media reports.
These reports had claimed that the State High Court had recognized Martins Amaewhule and 26 other individuals as members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the State House of Assembly.
On Monday, numerous reports suggested that Justice Okogbule Gbasam had affirmed that the 27 lawmakers of the Rivers State House of Assembly, led by Martins Amaewhule, remained members of the PDP.
However, Iboroma, armed with a certified true copy of the judgment, insists that these reports are inaccurate. He states that his stance has been validated, explaining that the court merely dismissed the lawsuit due to lack of jurisdiction. The court also ordered the inclusion of the PDP as the fourth defendant in the lawsuit and rejected the plaintiffs’ case on the grounds of insufficient merit.
