The 10th Rivers State House of Assembly has relocated its sessions to a new complex within the Government House in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

Led by Rt. Hon. Edison Ehie, the lawmakers commenced their plenary sessions at the Rivers State Government House.

This move comes in the aftermath of the demolition of the state Assembly building on Moscow Road, Port Harcourt, which occurred weeks after certain sections of the building were damaged by fire.

Following a court order, Rt. Hon. Edison Ehie remains the Speaker of the 10th Rivers State House of Assembly until the legal matter is resolved.

The assembly, under the directive of Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara, relocated its sessions to a new venue.

In its first sitting, the lawmakers elected Hon. Adolphus T. Orubienimigha as the new majority leader. The legally recognized speaker, Rt. Hon. Barr Ehie Edison, and other members are actively conducting sessions and debating bills at the new location.
