Suspected thugs allegedly hired by the ruling party, APC have been vandalizing and looting shops, as well as destroying traffic lights, in an attempt to discredit peaceful protesters in Kano.

According to Daily Trust, these hoodlums have initiated a spree of mob actions, attacking shops and offices across various streets.

Witnesses report that the looters were seen carrying off valuables, including chairs, computers, and other items from the targeted locations.

The violence starkly contrasts with the intentions of the protest organizers, who had emphasized their commitment to peaceful demonstrations scheduled for August 1, demanding an end to bad governance.

Social media has been abuzz with reactions, including a notable post from NN News Media, which monitored Yoruba Renou and APC celebrating the destruction of properties in Kano State.

This turn of events marks a significant deviation from the initially peaceful intentions of the protests, as thuggery and looting overshadow the demonstrators’ calls for reform.
