Renowned political analyst, Mahdi Shehu, criticized the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for not including the names of Bola Tinubu, Babatunde Fashola, Ambode, and Sanwo-Olu in their corruption list.

Shehu took to social media to express his criticism of the EFCC’s corruption list, which included 58 governors but omitted the names which he titled “EFCC AND ITS FOUR ‘SAINTS”.

Shehu pointed out the absence of four individuals who he believed deserved scrutiny but were not included in the list. He went further to suggest that these individuals be recognized as ‘saints’ by the Pope and the Saudi Crown.

Shehu noted that the corruption list, which had been making rounds on social media, did not include any governors from Lagos state. He called on Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser who had accused President Tinubu of corruption, to apologize for what he perceived as a malicious investigation.

Furthermore, Shehu proposed that the Pope and the Saudi Crown consider awarding Bola Tinubu, Babatunde Fashola, Akinwunmi Ambode and Babajide Sanwo-Olu the prestigious King Faisal Award for their ‘Service to Islam and Honesty’.

In support of his claims, Shehu cited Isaiah 53:3 from the Bible, a verse that describes Jesus Christ as a man despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief. He used this verse to underscore the idea that even those considered saints often face rejection and disdain.

Shehu’s post ignited a lively debate on social media, with users expressing diverse opinions on his claims and the implications of the EFCC’s list. While some concurred with his assessment, others criticized his approach and the potential fallout of his suggestions.
