Senator Shehu Sani has recalled the life sentence imposed upon him by Nigeria deadly dictator and former Head of State, General Sani Abacha, while he was fighting for billionaire businessman, Moshood Kashimawo Abiola’s, June 12, 1993, presidential mandate, News Band reports.
Senator Sani made the recollections on Monday, the June 12 anniversary of the long lost mandate.
The Senator, who represented Kaduna Central in the eighth Senate, made the remarks on his Twitter handle, @ShehuSani, while displaying photos of him while serving jail terms in Aba Prison, Abia State, and Kiri Kiri Prison in Lagos State.
“June 12 anniversary; While I was serving a life sentence for the charges of ‘managing an unlawful society” (The Campaign for Democracy) and treason; On the left was in J-ward, Aba Prison, Abia State. On the right was in block 2 Cell, Kiri Kiri Prison Lagos.
