Vice President Kashim Shettima met with the MD/CEO of ROXETTES MOTORS, Kaycee Orji, over the weekend to discuss transformative strategies aimed at advancing Nigeria’s automotive sector through the adoption of electric and compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles.

The discussions focused on improving Nigeria’s transportation infrastructure and driving economic growth by leveraging environmentally friendly technologies. Orji underlined the company’s dedication to reducing carbon emissions and fostering local manufacturing. “Our vision is to position Nigeria as a global leader in renewable energy and sustainable transportation,” he remarked, emphasizing the need to harness local talent for innovative solutions.

Key among ROXETTES MOTORS’ plans is the establishment of a vehicle assembly plant in Obuaku City, Abia State. Designed to produce 40,000 units annually, the plant is set to become an industrial hub, creating over 1,000 jobs while reducing the country’s reliance on vehicle imports. The facility will manufacture both electric and CNG vehicles, aligning with global sustainability trends.

Orji also unveiled the company’s vision to create an automotive university dedicated to renewable energy and electric vehicle technology. This institution will focus on skill development and capacity building, fostering job creation in manufacturing and advanced technology sectors.

As the assembly plant approaches completion, Orji commended the Abia State government for its support. He highlighted the pro-business policies of Governor Alex Otti, noting that all commitments made by the governor have been honored, creating a conducive environment for industrial growth.

This initiative represents a significant milestone in the evolution of Nigeria’s automotive industry. With ROXETTES MOTORS at the forefront, the country is poised to become a powerhouse in sustainable transportation and green technology.

Orji described the meeting with Vice President Shettima as a crucial step towards redefining Nigeria’s automotive landscape with a focus on sustainability and innovation.
