Amidst swirling allegations of budget padding amounting to a staggering N3 trillion in the 2024 Budget, Vice President Kashim Shettima has urged Nigerians to remain patient, assuring them of the promising initiatives President Bola Tinubu has in store for the nation.

Addressing the crowd in Kafur, Katsina state during the launch of an empowerment program sponsored by Ibrahim Masari, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political Matters, Shettima expressed gratitude for the support shown by Hon Ibrahim Kabiru Masari.

His remarks came in the wake of allegations leveled by the Northern Senators Forum (NSF), chaired by Abdul Ningi, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Ningi, despite his political affiliation, emphasized that his disclosure stemmed from a deep-seated love for Nigeria. He underscored discrepancies between the budget signed by the president and the version passed by the National Assembly.

In response to calls for clarification from Tinubu, Shettima emphasized the president’s empathetic stance towards the Nigerian populace, urging patience while confidently asserting the continued governance of Katsina State by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“Leadership entails demonstrating empathy and backing for the people,” Shettima affirmed. “The president is deeply invested in the welfare of our great nation.”

He further reassured the people of Katsina and the broader north-west region, highlighting forthcoming initiatives aimed at their betterment. Applauding Masari’s empowerment efforts, Shettima encouraged others to emulate the dedication of the presidential aide, lauding him as a true advocate for his community.

With pride, Shettima declared, “The All Progressives Congress (APC) will maintain governance in Katsina state, a testament to the achievements of both past and present administrations.”
